INDUSTRY LEADING

Each product increases patient comfort whilst ensuring there are many benefits to the care provider and a reduction in costs.

Additionally, all products boast unmatched levels of functionality across all sectors and ranges and coupled to the technology is the use of recyclable materials.

The present frontline devices, such as chairs, beds and commodes, are not capable of fulfilling the evolving and changing needs of the long term care market.

A STAND-OUT PARTNER

Cortech Healthcare is working independently, as well as with partner companies, to apply its patented mechanical and software systems to current and new products, advancing them to market leading standard.

We are committed to working collaboratively to investigate how products and patent protected systems can add value to companies’ product portfolios and their bottom line.

LEVERAGING TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS FOR PRODUCT EXCELLENCE

We recognise the need to update and upgrade manufacturing processes and integral technologies. By working with experts in these fields, we have created a method of providing the best level of care possible.

The long-term care sector is seeking to provide a modern, cost effective, total-care package to patients and, as such, it requires technology to facilitate the change. Cortech Healthcare Ltd is leading the charge with this change, developing innovative and patent protected products to revolutionise patient handling..

CORE TECHNOLOGY

The core technology of the product offering is a simplified drive mechanism, using a linear motor drive to move a CAM.

The use of linear actuators gives a high operating force which not only can be controlled accurately but can also give feedback of its efforts against a known scale.

Multi-use of that mechanism gives an almost infinite range of movement in three axes which is wholly unique and, as all of which are powered, this enables those mechanisms to be conjoined so as to assist one another or extend that effort along either an axial or linear direction – something no other product currently offers.

As an example of the physical benefit this can provide, the system can be used to help a patient on and off a toilet in a way specifically customised to their physical characteristics or movement needs, mimicking human movement to re-engage appropriate muscles.

IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFE

Cortech Healthcare’s products are specifically designed to improve the quality of life of the ageing population and people with limitations on their movement.

Dignity, especially in an ageing demographic, can be reduced when undertaking simple operations such as using the toilet.

From enabling patients to participate in simple human functions such as toileting and showering, the existing outmoded products and the technology encompassed therein fail to provide the following:

  • ease of use
  • lightweight
  • resistance to 'lifting' injuries for the carers
  • reduced labour input
  • superlative hygiene and sterility factors

IMPROVED SOLUTIONS FOR PATIENTS & CARE PROFESSIONALS

The patent protected movement system, and the subsequent products, have been created to not only assist the end user but also to improve the working environment of the nursing and care professionals who are at risk of physical injury from the manual requirements of their job.

The lead product, the electronic shower chair commode, provides significantly increased functionality compared to products currently available.

The main benefits include:

  • The stand assist mimics human movement, re-engaging the correct leg muscles
  • Wireless control to enhance dignity
  • Customisation combats the issue of ‘one size fits all’
  • Increases independence through easy customisation, set up and control
  • Lightweight for ease of movement
